My take:

I think two things were changed to her—-nose and her chest.

I have nothing against people with wider jawline, like having rectangular or square jawline. However, in Toni’s case, she could have been prettier when her jawline is narrowed a little. I am not aiming for her to attain the V-Line shape just like Korean celebs do, it’s just that her jawline is still prominent. We could also add her nose that is too narrowed down so much the nostrils looked imbalanced with one another and not proportional to her facial width and/or jawline.

She could have thought of giving herself a jawline reduction since she thought of going under the knife to look more beautiful. I know, jawline reduction is quite dangerous since a portion of your skull will be shaved (Google it for you to have an idea), but more and more celebs are also having their jawlines reduced. It may alter Toni Gonzaga’s original look but who knows? Maybe this time, she will have more symmetrical face when she does what we call V-Line surgery.

V-Line is usually applicable only to South Korea, since South Koreans are toooooo conscious on their facial shape and size. Also, we should consider the fact that most Koreans have more prominent jawlines than Filipinos and the rest of Southeast Asian people (Cambodians, Vietnamese, Thais, Malays, Indonesians). This time, since more and more Filipinas are becoming conscious on their jawlines, why don’t they try the V-Line as well. They don’t need to have V-shaped exactly. Just shaving the most prominent area is enough.

I guess kaya siya na-okray ng todo ni Bashing101 dahil tingin ni Bashing101, nag-fe-feeling maganda si Toni while she suffers lack of facial symmetry. When it comes to facial symmetry, her younger sister Alex does better.

If there are any women who are satisfied with their jawlines, though appearing to be very prominent (ala- Agyness Deyn), probably it really suits their edgy and strong personality, and seems to be, their jawline is proportional to their nose.

Thoughts?

Seriously, she is one of the examples of plastic surgery gone BAD.

I understand how she wanted a healthy-looking, pouty lips. Unfortunately, hers has ended up either fish or ducklips.

Ano ‘yan?

If Angelina Jolie’s signature pouty lips were a result of cosmetic surgery, what she has done is making her both upper and lower lip looking proportional with one another, since her lower lip used to be a little bigger and seemed to be droopy.

It’s not my intention to irrationally bash the undisputed Concert Queen. It’s only her lips, or how the lip collagen was done on her lips, not her entire self. Personally, there is no problem with her. Just the lips. Just the surgery.

Just like boobjobs, Pouty Lips as well is NOT for EVERYONE.

… yet really GOOD. VERY GOOD LOOKING!

It’s been around 7-8 years since the eliminations until the finals night of Starstruck 3. One of the faces I have seen then is Arci Muñoz, who was the 6th of the Final 14 to be booted out.  Despite not making it to the Final 4, she still managed to get projects when she was in GMA. It’s just that when she was offered by TV5, she became one of the big-namers in ‘Kapatid’ station. In fact, not only she got a starring role in TV5′s Felina, she is now one of the co-hosts in Wowowillie.

And look at this Shimmian Surgi-Center banner below:

Hmmm…

I think I should start saving for either of the following:

Cavitalipomelt? Gore-tex Noselift? Beauty Mosaic? or having my double-chin shaved off to have a more visible V-Line?

(Side Note: My jawline isn’t exactly V-Shaped. Though a bit chubby on my teenage years before slimming down at 19 up to 20, and even prior to 2005, I used to have some V-line. My face is of round shape, and it just got rounder and chubbier when I gained more weight starged 2006 until now)

Mukhang maganda magparetoke sa Shimmian kesa sa Belo o Calayan ano? Look at her nose now, and she really really lookin’ good! Gore-tex noselift really makes the nose lookin’ more natural, and safer than silicone implants. I even checked Shimmian Manila website and those who underwent nose surgery at Shimmian had their noses improved and staying natural.

Good job on their work!

Kudos for Arci as well.

Awesome of the day: When Americans sing and/or speak tagalog… and nailing it!

These are the videos I have selected for now. There are more Filipino showcases from Americans you can see on youtube.

The moment I’ve seen these pictures, I was so dumbfounded. I’m serious, some of them may not speak the language but they nail it when they sing it. While some of them may have a distinctive American accent, they nail it when they speak or sing.

Speaking of belting Tagalog songs, Lady Roz is EPIC WIN! It was a tagalog song and even if she has a bit of American tone, I thought it was either Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin singing that song. That was the most soulful rendition I’ve ever heard.

There are more highly commendable ones like ThinnerNation, Isiak, AkoSiChris, Adrad49, and Lettermen. ThinnerNation did Kahit Isang Saglit better than anyone else you can see on our local singing contests. Adrad49 made Kahit Maputi na ang buhok ko and Matud Nila more nostalgically romantic. AkoSiChris should be establishing a rock band here in the Philippines singing Tagalog rock songs, truly a rocker.

While I will be a making a special feature on this one on a separate article, Gabby Abshire is the most commendable child I’ve ever seen. Kudos to his parents for encouraging him to learn the language as well as appreciating Filipino culture. The way he speak tagalog, doing the Boy Pick-Up skit, eat his halo-halo will really really pwn any Filipino konyotic children you can see around your place. Mga bata nga naman sila, yet I can’t help making a comment about our very own konyotic children (excluding regular Filipino children)  because they “find it hard” to speak Tagalog or even sing Tagalog. I can’t blame them, it’s their parents who are to blame. Seriously, “americanizing” your children or shoving English to your children will not make you or them looking elite. English stuff won’t make anyone ELITE.

He even nails it!

I hate to be overly critical towards my fellow Filipinos, but in the age of BPO/Call Center Industry boom, if English language is slowly being deteriorated, how about Filipino language? While I find it awesome to see parents speaking English to their children, they forget to make their children knowledgeable in speaking Filipino. If more and more Filipinos are having their English skills deteriorated, there would be larger percentage of Filipinos having their Filipino skills and cultural knowledge deteriorated. I bet my sister’s DELL laptop that more and more local children do not know how to sing Bahay Kubo, and they could not greet in Tagalog.

I am not claiming American supremacy over Filipino stuff. I am posting these videos and commentary just to show to Filipinos as examples. Why there are Americans who are knowledgeable in speaking and singing Tagalog while konyo kids out there knows nothing but… what?

Do not forget as well that Alex Compton—now currently an Assistant Coach to Alaska Aces—has been showcasing his Tagalog-speaking skills so much he can pwn Filipino-Americans or Filipino konyo players in PBA.

Have you ever had your minds blown when you see a foreigner speaks Tagalog MORE fluent than the rest of us, locals?

Your thoughts?

PhotoMessage of the Day: LEA SALONGA for LGBT PEOPLE

Now this increases my deepest respect for this diva.

Seriously, lashing out lesbians, gays, trannies and bisexuals in the name of Christianity is simply making Christian advocacy nonsensical, annoying and more blasphemous. Jesus never ostracized anyone. He even let a prostitute wash his feet. He even lambasted those who were trying to stone a suspected woman adulterer to death. Jesus never discriminated anyone and simply shared God’s love to anyone regardless of status, so why is there a need for hatred and hurting towards LGBT people?

Seriously, those who are acting straight, conservative, formal, prestigious, prayerful but in reality are likely to do dirty politics and eventually, philandering/infidelity, powertripping are the ones who are more idiotic and “abnormal” than the LGBT people whom they are pointing fingers at.

End of Story.

———————————————————————————————————————————————-

Well, it’s up to you on whom you are going to believe.

In my case, I don’t have to read all the said articles because I could easily predict that no one will surely believe with ‘Krazy’ Aquino.

“I felt violated as a woman”? “Violated as a woman” mo mukha mo Tetay!

Yeah, March is a women’s month, and with Kris Aquino’s statement, I felt our womanhood has been slapped. She has NO fucking right to say anything feministic. Her entirety of her image is NOT WOMEN EMPOWERING AT! ALL! First off, it is no secret to her how nagging bitch she is, that she is so desperate towards a man that in the end, she will create all smear campaigns against them. When she is a TV host, all she does is to interrupt a guest (how rude naman!). She even announces to the world that she used to be contacted with STD, as well as how often she had sex with Joey each day on National TV, at how she wanted to take Alvin Patrimonio from his wife Cindy Conwi (at that time prior to eloping with Philip Salvador), at how she creates controversies so much that her entire clan’s name is at stake as well as traumatizing her children. What’s even disturbing is the way she denied James the rights to see Bimby.

Looks can be deceiving but I don’t think James is toooo tarantado enough to be Bimby’s father. In fact, everytime that Kris keeps on yakking and yakking on National TV about James, it was James who is so silent. Granted, James may have married Kris Aquino because of wealth, pero sino naman ang namanhikan?

Seriously, I think Lisa Masa of Gabriela is even facepalming on her seat when she is reading about Kris Aquino. ‘Krazy’ is not worthy to be protected. Every woman needs to be protected, but in the case of ‘Krazy’, protection will all be going to waste.

Look what’s going on with Josh Salvador, after she denied Philip Salvador of rights as a father to this son. Not only he has gone special child, everything went fucked up kasi bine-baby pa eh. Hindi malayong magiging ganyan si Bimby. Worse, tama bang kwentuhan mo ang 5-year old mong anak ng mga kadramahan mo sa buhay?

Netizens in PEP is right. Gabby Concepcion used to be such an asshole towards Sharon Cuneta, but she was not like denying Gabby of rights as being a father to KC Concepcion. Sharon Cuneta also comes from political family just like Kris Aquino, just that despite having her inner bitch inside, she knows how to be a diva in a manner that she will be able to maintain the respect that people are giving her. A diva in her own right, pero marunong makisama. Sharon Cuneta is not that talented (according to my mom’s sources) at the time she began her career in entertainment industry, but through hardwork, great attitude, excellent camaraderie towards fans and non-fans alike, her overall growth never-ends. She became famous NOT for bragging the Cuneta clan and nonsensical attention/famewhoring, but how she handled her life, her career, and her being a mother which happened to be really excellent.

I understand that Sharon Cuneta will not like being compared to Kris Aquino, but if you are going to check the point of some readers there, it’s about being a ‘mentally stable’ mother. Whining all about the shenanigans you experienced from your husband, not doing anything that will make you grow and be mature enough is not an empowerment as well. There is a sheer difference between empowering yourself as a woman and being an all-out bitch. Well, just giving Kris Aquino a hell-load of idea what should be a ‘decent’ mom is, and I am not even a mom.

And don’t get me started at how ‘Krazy’ handles her relationships with men. There was even a rumor that my mom got from a source that Kris wants another taste of meat.

There was even a rumor spread on PEP from a certain netizen that the STD that Kris got was from an another guy, not from Joey. When she and Joey had a check-up at MMC, it’s not about the STD, but to abort a baby supposed to be courtesy of Joey Marquez.

Very bad. Very…very…very…bad!

Another thing, if you are going to check Celebrity Urban Legend section of PEx, there was a rumor that Kris Aquino is a nymphomaniac. Even a certain PEP commenter said that. Three times a day kay Joey, three times a day din kay James. Sorry Dear, pero ang lalaki, despite being babaero in nature, they are not as tough as a women when it comes to sex act, na kapag maka-milyong rounds pa si babae, si lalaki hinang-hina na.

I even had an ex-colleague who proved James Yap’s niceness and Kris Aquino’s bitchiness.

Meaning to say, they are too blind enough to see the wrong attitudes Kris Aquino has, as well as how she handles herself towards a guy. I am sure they were not able to see kung gaano ka-gustong agawin ni Kris si Alvin kay Cindy.

You may also try as well taking a cue from bashing101:

Nakakaawa actually si James Yap. I mean come on, sure he’s not hot, but he’s a baller, and to most women, that’s hot enough. I’m sure madaming babae yan na kinakalantaran no. And I actually believe that woman who allegedly had sexual relations with him.

Paano ba naman, to be locked up in a house with Kris? To endure her irritating, whining, high pitched pathetic excuse for a voice? Papatuyuin ko na lang ang mga mata ko with a hair dryer. I’m sure under si James kay Kris no. Sa english pa lang, talo na si James eh. I don’t think he’d get into any argument with her. “Yes” lang lagi ang sagot nya.

There must be a reason why James even married her in the first place. Is it the money? Grammar lessons? Maybe she’s a fireball in bed. Maybe Kris’s caterwauling actually gets him off.

James is of the same age as I do, just like he is older than me by four months and though he is already an adult, he was still too young for marriage, lalo pa sa tulad ni Kris Aquino. What Kris Aquino might have overlooked is that, the age 20-25 is still on experimental stage in sex and relationships. Pinagdaanan ko na ‘yan eh. That is also the age na naging mapusok ako. And James Yap hails from a simple family in Negros Occidental, so being with someone hailing from elite clan is too big for him to handle.

You have known me for speaking about about women empowerment, but in the case of a simple person marrying a powerful elite is too much to handle. Men are not even exempted from this. If a simple woman suffers the hugeness of marrying someone from a powerful clan, then that will be the same as men. And please, hasty generalization of simple men marrying rich women as gold-diggers is just plain retarded. If men are capable of gold-digging, then what about women coming from not-so-well-off family?

The notion ‘Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus’ is not always applicable.

No matter extraordinarily intelligent you are, as long as you are not overbearing enough and knows to recognize the needs of men as well and you know how to handle yourself in private and public, you will not have a hard time marrying a guy.

Look at Lea Salonga. It took a long time before she could marry, but at least she got married a year earlier than Kris Aquino and having a happy married and family life up to now. Most ignoramus people (sorry, but I have to call them ignoramus for very valid reasons) accuse Lea Salonga for being all-out arrogant—especially when criticizing Anne Curtis and Christine Bersola—-but if you are going to analyze what Lea Salonga has been through, you will understand her why. Sure, her family may not be as powerful as Krazy’s, but her father is a military man (now you can see all the discipline and toughness she has the way she handles her career). She earned her popularity through constant training mainly in music and theater, so much it eventually lead her to her casting in Miss Saigon, earning Tony Awards, singing for Disney soundtracks, the rest is history. She is known to be too intelligent, too english-speaking and too domineering to handle, but why she was able to have someone like Robert Chien as her husband? I know, Lea won’t like being compared to someone cheaper than her, but still, the point is, how you will be able to maintain self-respect while being a ‘too intelligent’ and ‘domineering’.

You can be like Blair Waldorf while not losing your self-respect and keeping your attitude in check. Anyway, Kris is nowhere near to Blair Waldorf.

Man! I guess I have said enough. Hate to make it long, but simply to give you my POV on the Kris-James brouhaha.

Surely, my sympathy goes to James Yap.

Again, looks can be deceiving. However, the way I observe James Yap’s facial features and tone of his voice, I don’t think he will be so asshole to gold-diggin’ on Kris Aquino and attempt to sexually violate her in front of Bimby. James Yap has gone through a lot of hell because of Kris Aquino, yet I can see in him his sanity is too durable enough to be broken down.

Random Quote: If SoKor has Kris Aquino and Cecile Ongpauco

Seriously, if South Korea will be having such women like Kris Aquino and Cecile Ongpauco, I am pretty sure that South Korean netizens will drive these women to jump off the top of 30-storey building. They don’t need famewhoring women who gives nothing but shame to the country in everyday life.

Not that I am favoring the misogyny of South Korea, but I don’t think they are too rude enough to respect a powerful woman who knows how to handle herself excellently in public.

In short, our Good Lord is really Just.

You cannot have everything unless deserved mo talaga.

After all, Kris deserves a peaceful life – saan ba matatagpuan ang peaceful life?

Natural, outside of showbiz for sure. Kasi nga, masalimuot ang mundo natin.

Thank you Bandera for these excerpts/comments from netizens. Saranghamnida!

Well, I am not quite different from Kris when it comes to prayer. I pray (just that I do not pray rosary that much), yet I commit sins. I even have problems with my relationship towards my mom. I am selfish. I shout expletives. I committed fraudulent activity just to hit the target. I gain enemies. I am cold. I am a bitch as well.

It’s just that I do not treat the world my oyster in a insipidly negative fashion. I do not run too desperate towards a guy, then smearing his reputation after being effed up. I am not manipulative. If I will be having an affair or fling with a married guy, at least I won’t do anything to take him away from his woman. I do not powertrip. I may have superiority complex but knows how to treat people equally and recognize authority. I am not too friendly, but I do not discriminate people.

I am not in the right position to give some inspirational sermons. However, Holy Week is fast-approaching. I guess, this should be the right time for Kris to rethink of her actions. We are not aiming for her perfection. Resigning/Filing Leave of Absence from your current job is not the right answer as well. She needs to contemplate on the things about her and her family and why all of them are slowly being screwed up. She needs to realize SHE IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT & MIGHTY.

One more thing, I guess she needs to read a bible more often (as if naman nagbabasa ako lagi nun, no!). You can only find peace with the Holy Trinity: God the father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.

Just sharing the cue I took from a friend living in a Christ-centered life.

The Call Center life for Call Center Agents…a repost

$

0

Well, I got this from the wall of my ex-colleague-slash-enemy and reposted this on my Facebook page.

Ladies and Gentlemen, for those who are not yet or never been into Call Center industry, I hereby introducing you the life, joy, tears, hardships and lots of kalokohan in Call Center.

“Congratulations, you’ve successfully passed the recruitment process. You’re hired”.

YOU ARE HIRED!!!

Ipo-promote ang world peace.

Go on aux 4, coaching tayo”.

15. Dahil immersed tayo sa konsepto ng tamang “customer service”, madalas kang mag-amok sa mga fast food chain kapag pakiramdam mo ay “youre not getting your money’s worth”. “Ano to!! Sabi ko LEG part.. Bakit tuyong BREAST ang binigay mo sakin? Tawagin mo ang manager!!!”.

Nagulantang ako dati nang minsan kong tanungin si Manong Guard ng “Saan po dito yung testing area?”, sabay sagot ng “Im sorry, but you must be aware that this is an *English Only* zone”. Muntik nakong sumuka ng dugo.

Pero dahil maparaan ka, sinagot mo siya ng “oh.. that was a secret passage, written in the language of Mordor, that must be uttered to hasten your dwindling internet speed..”.

Boy A: Ah ok. Anong ulam sa pantry?

CX: Bear with me, im such an idiot when it comes to tech stuff. You: Its ok maam. And im sorry that you’re an idiot.

Ikaw: TL, Biglang na-drop yung call!! May multo!!!”. TL: Ulol.

39. Hindi rin mawawala ang love team. Naks. Vicious cycle.

40. Langit ang training phase. Petiks mode. Buddy up lang lagi.

Thank you for calling, to which department would you like to be transferred?

For those who has been bashing Call Center industry and its agents, this is the life you should be aware of before you open your mouth.

You guys must be thankful that you do not have to hear a mountainful of rants from irate customers, you must be thankful that you do not have to suffer some short or choppy sleeps or near insomnia. You guys must be thankful you do not experience pressure in meeting the metrics. If you do this, I dunno how long your sanity will stay strong.

Anyway, those who are working in their desks during daytime (especially those who are accounting clerks, bank tellers, and in a corporate setting etc.) , you guys must be envious because you never had the luxury of wearing whatever will make you look and feel comfortable. You guys must be jealous because you could not wear something that could express yourself. You guys must be jealous because the industry you are working at still exercises discrimination, and your process of promotion is merely based on either seniority or nepotism regardless of how a person performs his/her job. You guys are jealous simply because your life is boring and mundane unlike us!

Welcome to the Call Center Society!

WTS and Lolit Solis’ take on Heart’s decision to choose Chiz Escudero

Thanks Manay Lolit for featuring WTS’ take on the recent issue between Heart Evangelista, her parents and Chiz Escudero. Saranghamnida!

To my regalia teammates, allow me to share to all of you what Manay Lolit Solis (read: ‘Manay’ is a bicol dialect for addressing your sister that is older than you. Another form of  ’ate’) has shared yesterday on her column in PSN. If you happened to be a parent of a sane mindset, you will understand all the shenanigans and what Heart is currently going thru.

“Although, Mr. and Mrs. Ongpauco will say that this is about his supposedly rudeness, his lack of respect, his influence over Heart. Neither is this about how suitable a boyfriend the senator is for the actress because for any loving parent, no man is perfectly suitable for a daughter so loved.

PSN ( Article MRec ), pagematch: 1, sectionmatch:

Or if you want to be corny about it, Heart’s own heart has chosen. And from the looks of it, she has made the choice on her own.

From her statements to the media, it is clear that the 28-year-old Heart Evangelista has chosen.

“Has she chosen wisely? Has she chosen prudently? Has she chosen what will be the best for her? Walang makapagsasabi sa ngayon. Not the Ongpaucos, not Senator Escudero, not even Heart.

“No one can tell where her decision will lead. Just as no one can tell where any decision based on love will ever bring us. The girl is of age. And in a world as volatile as showbiz, let’s give her some credit naman.

“Heart Evangelista has always conducted herself with grace and dignity that any parent would be proud of. That any fan would glad to emulate.

Ang importante ay nagpasya si Heart, she has chosen and that choice is the one she may in the future be proud of or ultimately, regret.

“But it is her choice. It is her heart. It is her own future that she is trying to make. No one, no matter how loving or protective, can ever protect her from life and the consequences of her choices.

“All that the most loving and accepting of parents can do is to be there. If the love triumphs, the best parents will be there to cheer their offspring on. If the love fails, the most loving parents will be there to accept, to show unconditional love.

“In Heart’s case, will disowning her supposedly scandalous behavior be of any true and lasting help?

As you all know that I am not a parent and I realize I do not have a child yet, so you may accuse me I do not understand being a parent. However, anak din ako gaya ni Heart, and she is like of her right age. Parents knows best for their son/daughter, but they never ever have the position to dictate what they want for their daughter especially if she is turning on to her 30s. They are concerned for the welfare of their children, but the concern should NOT go overboard.

In case of Cecile Ongpauco, she actually went overboard. Sorry to insult the intelligence of her sympathizers, but you guys seems too be toooooo subservient to your parents without trying to analyze. Too bound in hierarchy so much without thinking. And bashing Heart for being a brash and rebellious daughter like accusing her of a whore is fucking retarded.

You are being protective to your daughter while unravelling to the press that your daughter has psychological problems, that she hasn’t finished high school and doesn’t know how to cook? Well, way to go Mrs. Ongpauco for proving how worthless mother you are. I swear I’ve never seen Tita Cory Aquino, Annabelle Rama, or even Assunta de Rossi’s mom bashing their own daughters on TV while claiming to be too protective.

Seriosly, being slender does NOT equate to having sex appeal. I’d rather find plus size models posing in erotic posters SEXY than this one.

And please, when searching for a someone covergirl-worthy of any men’s magazine, make sure she is THAT sexy.

Mario Maurer and Cacai Bautista are close to one another; jealous ugly bishes will gonna be JEALOUS!

I am not a fan of Cacai Bautista, but everytime I see her when I watch any ABS-CBN show featuring her, she never fails to amaze the audience. Sure, she is not beautiful according to the hypocritical expectations of Filipino beauty standards and celebrity-worthiness, but she is such a true entertainer—a comedian, actress and singer—and as far as her singing ability she has the voice of a diva, and I ain’t kidding. She is worthy to have a record deal and it’s saddening she ain’t able to have it, while celebrities of not-so-great vocal ability can have a recording album. I am not expecting her to be the lead actress in any TV series or Movies. I simply want her to be given a project that will showcase her talents and not just being stuck into her usual supporting comedic roles.

Meanwhile, it is no secret to all of you how I liked Mario Maurer very very much. My ex-colleagues even told me that Mario looks better than Nichkhun, it’s just that my fondness for Mario is not as heavy as what I feel towards Nichkhun. Mario Maurer never fails to amaze his fans. He is more than just a great face. He is an award-winning actor, can manage to look both sexy and endearingly cute, and he is known as a loyal boyfriend. This question in my mind made me wanna bonk the head of someone who commented against either Mario Maurer or Thai guys in general:

stupid comment

Is this commenter joking? Granted, womanizing may have been acceptable in Thai culture, but hasty generalization of Thai men is simply retarded. Thai men (male celebs in particular) are as imperfect as any guys out there regardless of nationality, it’s just that what I admire about them is that they can be charming and attractive in a manner they don’t need to undergo thru desperate measures like resorting to steroids. They can be good-looking without the need to look western.

Stereotyping Thai men as cheaters doesn’t make any Filipino guy (celeb or civilian) any more loyal to their partner. As a matter of fact, our society is ruled by patriarchy so ugly that guys are being tolerated to cheat, throw physical and even sexual violence to women. Not generalizing though, I am just trying to show that Philippine society is as misogynist as anything else.

[Side Note: In the age of women empowerment in the Philippines, we ladies still have to ask a great deal of approval from men, and still have to please them in any means possible so that they won't leave us. It's such a mindfuck that up to know, it is almost compulsory to have a boyfriend/husband or we have to suffer a great deal of ridiculing. Measure of a woman's self-worth, eh?]

Going back to Cacai and Mario, I don’t see anything wrong with their possible romance/relationship. Come to think of it, Cacai must be the fairest of all Kapamilya female talents ‘coz she is the only one who got the attention of this Thai cutie while he was paired with Erich Gonzales in their movies. Baka hindi lang niya type si Erich, or must be there is something with Erich that Mario didn’t like.

‘Chos!

Cacai using Mario? Meh! I don’t think sooooowwwww! If Mario doesn’t see anything wrong with Cacai then what’s the problem with their friendship? Cacai doesn’t have a reputation to be a golddigger, and she is way too old to dig gold from Mario, she is intelligent, real person, hindi maarte, and have more sense to talk with, so that gives him reasons to befriend her, instead of Erich, or Kim, or Maja.

People, call me delusional, but in life, there is more to life than just beauty. Sure, you might be all-gorgeous and rich, but if you are after for something else instead of love/companionship/friendship, you will not be taken seriously. Even if someone took you seriously, I don’t think the relationship will last to the point of ending up into marriage.

The problem with Filipino netizens (not to generalize them though) is even if they hypocritically proclaim the value of inner beauty than anything else, they also tend to give a fuzz on someone’s physical beauty and status and they even make these as a measure of self-worth. They are not even rich, beautiful and powerful enough. I realize that as well, it’s just that I don’t bitch on people based on their status and beauty. Can you see my reason why I lambast Cristine Reyes, Kim Chiu, Kris Aquino and even Cecile Ongpauco? It’s not because of beauty, or their status. There are reasons DEEPER than that.

Jealous Ugly Bitches gonna be JEALOUS!

Sorry bitches, no matter what you do, YOU. WILL. NEVER. BE. MORE. BEAUTIFUL. THAN. CACAI.  To the asshole detractors of Mario Maurer as well, oh well, bashing Mario will even make you look GHEI-ER! End of Story.

Since I’ve been exposed to Korean culture, sometimes I feel that Filipino netizens ain’t no different from the kind of cyberculture that their Korean counterparts have. No need to elaborate the latter. If you Google it, now you see my point!

Campaign fail of the day: Cynthia Villar and her stupid logic on nursing grads and why we SHOULD NOT vote her.

Note to readers: I wasn’t able to watch Pagsubok ng mga Kandidato at that time when Rep. Cynthia Villar became a guest. However, allow me to share the entire transcript of the interview between the said congresswoman and the host Mareng Winnie Monsod (Kudos to iVotePH and IAmJammed for the transcripts. Kamsahamnida!):

And as a result, nagresign po si Chairman Fr. Rolando dela Rosa, nagresign ang buong Technical Committee on Nursing Education.”

Ngayon, Cong. Villar, can you reconcile itong parang seeming disconnect between yung desire ninyo to help the poor at saka sa pagpapanig nyo sa mga owners ng mga educational institutions na gustong isara ng Technical Nursing Committee at saka yung CHED?”

Villar: “Maraming salamat, Mareng Winnie.  I want to explain that situation to you. And then, sinasabi nila na kaya daw nila gustong ipasara dahil walang tertiary hospital kasi sa mga nursing school to where they can train.

In other words, if its only a matter of investment, bakit po hindi sila ma-employ-employ. At bakit po nag-resign ang Technical Nursing Education Committee at saka nag-resign after only 7 months in office.  Do you think they just did not understand?”

Villar: “Yung pag-re-resign po ni Father is a personal quarrel with the owner of a school.

[Additional note: To the readers who understand Tagalog, please be generous to have this interpreted to the foreign viewers who could not read or understand the said language]

Allow me to focus on the high-lighted words that came from Mrs. Villar’s mouth.

First off, time pressure is NO EXCUSE for having such stupid logic towards licensure to be medically-allied caretakers, whether becoming a private or hospital nurse or caregivers. Doesn’t she see the fucking reason why aspiring nurses HAVE TO ACHIEVE BSN, regardless if they end up as room nurses, or in America with people seeking PROFESSIONAL HELP? My youngest sister even lambasted that kind of logic Cynthia has, stating that “paano kung may nangyari sa dina-diagnose mo, or sa pine-prescription mo, saan ka pupulutin ngayon?” When we say professional help, it should not be merely a househelp but someone who took a medically-allied course that needs licensure or certification to prescribe medicine, diagnose, and give an extra-special care especially to babies and adults. There is a SHEER DIFFERENCE between a HOUSEMAID and CAREGIVERS or even NURSES.

Also, you really HAVE to be MAGALING in a sense of being a CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL to take care of adults and children that needs special care. Subukan lang ni Cynthia na ipaalaga lang niya sa mga katulong (sorry for questioning the capability of Domestic Helpers though), tingan natin kung ano ang kahahantungan ng mga kalusugan ng mga iyan. Does she still have her parents?

The way she say it is like equating NURSES, ASSISTANT NURSES and CAREGIVERS to DOMESTIC HELPERS, and that is reeeeaaaaallly reaaaaallyyyy looooooowwwwww on many levels.

I guess, lumabas din ang tunay na agenda niya through her words. Lumabas din ang pinakadahilan kung bakit patuloy ang pagbaba ng employment ng mga nursing grads at mga licensed nurses inside and outside the Philippines. After licensure, they even need to pay for their own training just to have a medical experience and you can only receive mere allowances if you are lucky enough.

Not all hospitals give allowances to their newly-licensed nurses BTW! See the shenanigans that our medical care going thru?

Now you see why most of the nursing graduates and even licensed nurses ending up in Call Center Industry. Not that I don’t want them to work in this “Married-to-the-Night” Industry, but even if Call Center agents get higher pay, Nurses deserve BETTER than risking their health in taking tankload of gazillion of calls just for gorgeous benefits of Call Center Industry. Some licensed nurses (and engineers as well) are ending up complacent in this industry, treating it as their comfort zone.

All I want for the nurses is that they should be able to make use of their profession.

Hindi dapat talagang iboto ang gagang ‘to. Now I see the reason why their “para sa mahirap” platform is no longer catchy to the masses. The way they use it is obviously dubious since they obviously looking too Kapitalista. Look at them, they have been using gazillion worth of money for election campaigns in hopes that they will get huge amounts of votes, but ending up fucking losers. Her husband Manny Villar is an example of a candidate who ran for presidency 3 years ago, and ending up EPIC FAIL. I do not need to explain much. Try to check Google people, you will see how ridiculous his style while some sordid stories about him were stinking out.

The Villar couple should end up focusing on their entrepreneurial ventures rather than in politics.

BB Cream Review: SanSan/Hortaleza MD’s New BB Cream

$

Around eight months ago, I made a feature on Ever Bilena’s very own BB cream. Since I made that feature, that one garnered the most number of views for a couple of months and I was so happy to find about it. While there are readers who are happy about the launch of that BB Cream, one of them is not happy as it got her skin darker.

Just to set the expectation of the readers, skin’s reaction to any product may depend on one’s metabolism, skin chemistry and sensitivity. We can also include skin acidity. In her case, her skin might be acidic, just like mine. When we say the skin is acidic, the color/tone changes once we put any makeup onto the skin. When I wear Avon ColorRich lipstick in Butternut shade, it doesn’t turn out brownish but giving out a hint of reddishness. Also, we should not judge a product simply because of its price as well as how it reacts to the skin. We cannot also classify expensive branded make-ups as safe to any skin type as well.

In my case, while BB cream easily adjusts to the skin tone way better than concealers, foundations and tinted moisturizers, BB cream of Ever Bilena is not as spreadable as the rest of the BB creams in the market, na para bang kelangang i-tug yung skin mo. Also, if you have this BB cream, you must have a face powder or powder foundation that has darker shade if your skin happens to be morena or darker. I realize it suits better on those with fairer or ligher skinned women. Another thing, Ever Bilena BB Cream has a texture that is near similar to old-school liquid foundations, that it’s why it is not as spreadable as the rest of BB creams. Nevertheless, I still give Ever Bilena a kudos because they came up with BB cream among leading local cosmetic brands Fashion 21 and Nichido. Next one to give kudos to is Fanny Serrano cosmetics and the latest one is no other than HBC’s SanSan.

When I visited one of HBC outlets, I was really surprised that SanSan (in cooperation with Hortaleza MD) already have a BB cream alongside a cream foundation with whitening cream that is similar to Cover Girl-Olay cream foundation. What is really great about SanSan BB cream is that its tone is great to use for most Filipino skin tones, especially for morena skin like mine, though it may not work well with women with lighter skin tones, and so far this is the most affordable BB cream in the market I’ve ever seen and I am getting the benefits I am looking for in a BB cream.

Unlike the Shawill Collagen BB cream I was using prior to buying SanSan BB cream (I still love Shawill though!) SanSan is less oily. Its oil-control aspect may be so-so (according to one of the blogs I’ve read) but when I put a face powder (compact powder or powder foundation) on it, the make-up stays longer and even if I do not put any powder after 5 hours of applying BB cream and powder, mine stays OIL-FREE, and my skin tends to be oily on some seasons.

[Side Note: Maybe because, my face become less oilier after using astringents and anti-blemish serum for over 3 months now. It may still have scars, but I became less pimple-prone, scars became lesser-visible, and my face is now lighter than before. Prior to that, ang dami kong pimples. After shift, I go straight to the sleeping quarters without washing my face first!]

So, aside from having a shade compatible to my skin tone and being less oily, the texture and coverage is as thick as any Korean BB cream you can find in the market, and you can use any powder towards this cream—loose powder, mineral powder, powder foundation and just a mere compact powder—and giving you a matte, flawless finish! You can use whatever amount that you want and still giving you flawless, fresh look. And just like any BB creams out there (Unlike Avon, which is more like of a tinted moisturizer and Maybelline, which is of thinner texture), SanSan/Hortaleza MD gives you the combined coverage force of foundation and concealer, the spreadability of a moisturizer, and sun protection of SPF rolled into ONE!

What is even surprising is it has Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins A/C/E and SPF 45. If you have heard of Squalene, Issho Genki Fish Liver Oil capsules comes to mind, and its benefits to health is no secret to anyone who purchases it. Hyaluronic Acid has anti-aging/anti-wrinkle properties. Vitamins A/C/E has always been in every SanSan make-up variant, that is why I never had any problems with SanSan make-up brand. SPF45 is perfect ingredient especially for those who want their skin protected from sun’s damaging rays. For my face that is still going thru skin peeling (thru usage of astringents and anti-pimple serums), it becomes more sensitive and even more prone to sun damage, so it needs protection from UVA/UVB rays of the sun, and SanSan BB cream has it all. [Side Note: I have been using Shawil Collagen BB Cream during that period prior to buying Sansan, and had no problems in using Shawill anyway]

I do not exactly look for something anti-aging when it comes to BB creams. As long as they provide full coverage that can cover blemishes perfectly, spreadable, matches my skin tone, protects my skin from the sun and most of all, AFFORDABLE, I will go for it. Sansan BB cream is the most affordable BB cream I have ever bought and the price of Php149.00 ain’t that bad for a 30ml BB cream. I won’t go for BB creams that are of lower than 30ml content and price isn’t proportionate. I even used Ever Bilena compact powder or imitation of MAC powder foundation to top BB cream, and stay on my face for hours, and I am not experiencing any adverse reaction from it after 3 days of using. I even still look fresh even after shift without the need of adding additional amounts of BB cream, and just a few swipes of face powder, I feel totally fresh and oil-free!

I am glad that SanSan finally came up with their very own BB cream. When it comes to make-up brands, Sansan happens to be one of my ones. Prices happens to be the most affordable in the market, colors are vibrant, provides excellent coverage (in the case of foundations, powders, and concealers), and very innovative. The only downside is that the range of lipstick colors are getting lesser, and they do not have darker shades on some of their foundations and powders. I may not know if this will be my ONLY BB cream choice, but SanSan simply just met my expectations, eventhough it has a little lapses—container is of hard to use and not transfer-proof.

I am not expecting all girls to try this one, since all of us have different preferences. Some prefer Korean brands, some are otherwise. Some simply do not like BB cream on their faces at all, since it is less breathable than liquid foundation (according to my one of my sisters). However, for those women with morena or darker skin tones like mine, I strongly recommend Sansan/Hortaleza MD BB Cream.

Lastly, let me remind you that PRICE doesn’t usually indicate quality and safety. You may prefer purchasing EXPENSIVE products, but does that meet ALL of your expectations? Remember, there are different factors why that product is expensive, and not all imported products are of exceptional quality.

Philippine Universities Tuition fees: comparison of selected NCR tertiary schools and their tuition per unit

Thanks GMA news and Facebook for providing picture of tuition comparisons.  As you can see, malapit na rin pumantay sa Ateneo, LaSalle at CSB ang UP.

Well, I understand whatever the situation UP Education system may have, but in these recent times, increase in the tuition of University of the Philippines System has gone a big MINDFUCK!

Well, there are universities like Ateneo or Lasalle or CSB or UA&P, with tuition fees that are still HIGHER than UP Education System, but why UP Diliman is now currently on hot waters when it comes to tuition issues?

If you are going to check the data (also, including the disclaimer/footnotes) it appears that UP is currently gearing towards being University in the likes of Ateneo, LaSalle, and UA&P—- tuition fees that only rich people can afford.UP’s tuition could go higher than UST, FEU-EAC and FEU, which we expect that the latter-mentioned schools would be higher than UP since PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES are known to have tuition fees that are HIGHER than STATE-OPERATED UNIVERSITIES.

It should be noted that UNIVERSITY of the PHILIPPINES is a STATE UNIVERSITY, not private, not even SEMI-PRIVATE. It is a STATE UNIVERSITY just like my alma-mater POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES.

Another thing that made UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES questionable is the tragedy of Kristel Tejada, who was forced to take a leave from studies due to her inability to pay tuition, and appeared to be there is nothing she can do to pursue studies unless she pays totally her tuition. For those who are not aware of UP Manila’s policy, students must file an LOA should they fail to meet the deadline for paying the tuition fee.

From what I understand, well, at least, it’s a LEAVE, not DISMISSAL. But still, FORCED LEAVE is INDEFINITE, what if a person like Kristel Tejada may not know when he/she can finally pay the tuition? It will take them LONGER for them to graduate. That scenario, of course, will depend on those who will go thru it. People will have various reactions. If you have the same mindset as Kristel— she is the eldest, she is a performer and her family appears to be expecting a lot from her. If you are going to Google some related stories, her father must have been laid off from his job as warehouse coordinator, which led her family to a whole lot of financial woes.

If you go through all those hell combined, would you also be goin’ nuts and to the extent, end your life as well?

Remember, the likes of Kristel Tejada is not as rich and/or priviledged like most of what UP students are now becoming. It would be so stupid of you if you go apathetic and bash a person a like her.

There are so many UNIVERSITIES around, but WHY UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES?

UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES is UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES. Is there any explanation needed why majority of Filipino students wants to be there?

Naiintindihan ko, lahat ay nagtataas, yet I can’t imagine na matataasan ng UP ang tuition rate ng UST and FEU system. Decades ago, bonafide and alumni of UP alike use to pride themselves that they are having one of the lowest tuition of all Universities in the Philippines. The top-knotch, yet one of the lowest.

Around 1998, our Filipino teacher used to tell us that their UP’s updated tuition at that time was Php300.00. Ngayon, Php1,500 (or could go lower).

Since it is no secret to y’all I am an alumni of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, just to let you know that PUP’s tuition has increased as well for the last decade since the time I graduated from my beloved school. All my life in that University, our tuition per sem can go as low as Php300+, but that depends on the course. Tourism and Hotel/Restaurant Management can go Php500+ or Php700+. That was between 1999 until I graduated in 2003.

Nowadays, the tuition rose up to Php666 (Putang Ina! Pang-demonyo ha!). My youngest sister’s tuition (she is of Marketing major BTW) can go up to Php800+, including miscellaneous fees. We don’t need airconed classrooms.

Just like the rest of PUPians, I am also happy for what our radical activists have been fighting for against huge tuition increase. I guess, PUP could be the last resort of students who aren’t able to make it in UP, or those who really wanted an even lower tuition. Yeah, the way PUP student activists rally and scream the hell out is a total mindfuck, but if you haven’t been on the same shit like students from lower income families do, YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHERE THEY ARE COMING FROM.

It all boils down to this one thing, and I know you guys are sick and tired of blaming to the government, but for the last couple of decades, none of our Presidents PRIORITIZED EDUCATION. CHED could not control the tuition fee that continuously increases. Cheaper than other Universities around the world, but still, our condition is a total mindfuck.

MSP’s take on Family and Education: Family time is always there

Family time is always there.

I hereby sharing to you her take on Family time and Education made by MSP (Molybdenum Studios Photography).

I can’t help but agreeing with her that the family-oriented system is abused. The Ongpaucos as well are examples of how they abuse the family-oriented system. Actually, it’s not just family-oriented system, but the hierarchy that we have so much we have no choice but to follow what our parents wanted for us.

Being a dictator to your children doesn’t guarantee unity within family. As a matter of fact, it could even make or break the relationship of the family. I seriously hate extra-conformity within family.

Random: Barbie or Bea? You choose.

Please check the related article in PEP for details. (http://www.pep.ph/news/36324/barbie-forteza-on-lingering-issue-of-competition-with-bea-binene-ldquoparte-ng-showbiz-ang-mga-ganyang-issues-na-hindi-naman-totoordquo)

You may try as well Google-ing it to find more info about the supposed Barbie Forteza-Bea Binene rivalry.

My take? I know this rivalry is so last year, and I also realize I do not know much about Barbie and Bea since my whole family watch ABS-CBN than GMA, I no longer have my own TV, and I do not watch TV as often as before. However, lemme’ have my pick between the two of them, and I choose Barbie Forteza over Bea Binene.

I personally do not believe in the so-called Role Model Theory, but I can see Barbie Forteza as someone who is worthy to be idolized by the youth. First, she acts appropriately for her age, and hasn’t made any issues too scandalous for a tween idol like her, and rather than Bea Binene, I’d rather want GMA Network to build her career up. While Bea appears to be more talented, sometimes having talent could be worthless if you are being involved with scandals as cohabiting with an adult. Also, I find Barbie to be having a very bubbly personality, and I like people having bubbly personality.

They simply make my day.

Well, I realize I have been a teenager, I’ve been hormonal, and I possibly went through the stage that most teenagers gone through, but would also be your responsibility as teenager and individual to guard yourself from dangers of, say, cohabitation? Worse, cohabiting with an adult and happens to be a lawyer and lately, to a DJ? That’s being jailbait, eh? And you happened to be a teen star more likely to receive criticisms and being vulnerable to it. It’s just inappropriate, especially you are packaged as a TEEN IDOL with WHOLESOME package.

Another thing, if you happened to be a teenager cohabiting with an adult, you are simply making the latter go nearer to jail. That could be statutory rape, duh!

Well, just randomly expressing my thoughts. What about yours?
